Hi all! I’m Conner, a sophomore who is planning on majoring in Computer Science and Software Engineering or in Applied Computing. I currently spend my days either at school as a full-time student or working on my own projects. I currently work on-and-off at the IT department at Everett Public Schools. When talking about gaming, I would describe myself as a casual gamer. While I do play some games for many hours, most of my games only see a few hours of gameplay before I move onto a new game. I often also find myself working on modding games. In the past I have made a quite successful mod for Prison Architect and another mod for LEGO Worlds. Currently, I am working on reverse engineering the game executables in LEGO Worlds in hopes of bringing better modding options to the community. I ended up in this class just to complete some prerequisites not realizing that we would be making a game. I look forward to its development!
Hi! I am a 22 year old transfer student majoring in Media and Communication Studies and minoring in Business. I was born and raised in Ballard, Seattle. I have never left, except for one brief year at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana fresh out of high school. Needless to say I am back, and hope to graduate in 2018! I work at Portage Bay Cafe full time as a server and hostess, am a full-time student at UWB, workout at my local Crossfit gym, and play in an adult co-rec soccer league. I am a busy girl, but I would drive myself crazy if I wasn’t. I have never been into gaming, but I have been told I am a second hand gamer, which means that (to my understanding) watching my xbox addicted boyfriend play video games means I am affected as well. I grew up playing board games with my family, and as a child went through various computer game phases such as Pajama Sam, Sims 1-3, and Zoo Tycoon. My gaming has since been close to nothing and I am hoping this course gives me a better understanding of the mind of the gamer and that I develop a sincere appreciation for game design and the industry as a whole. I am looking forward to creating a cool game with my team, let’s hope it works 🙂
